Gondelsheimer Planetenweg (Planets route of Gondelsheim)

The route from the town hall of Gondelsheim and the observatory is quantifiable in dimensions of millions of kilometres! In 2005, actively supported by the research center Karlsruhe and the community administration of Gondelsheim, a simple dirt road was transformed into a planet-motorway. Thanks to the special contributions and work of observatory-chairman Georg Henneges the former planet of Pluto still has found its place on the Planet Route of Gondelsheim. – However on a scale of 1 to 4 billion. Start and Stop is station nine – representing Pluto – with approximately 1500 m to the observatory.

Trivia

• The “Kraichgauer-Sternenwarte Gondelsheim” (observatory “Kraichgau” in Gondelsheim) was renovated by committed members of local societies.
• The observatory is open every Wednesday of each month – if skies are clear. Groups can take guided tours on other occasions – if registered in advance.
