In the years 2014 to 2019 the town church of St. Peter and Paul was silent. The old chiming of steel had become obsolete. The silence during this time was hard to bear. The people of Teterow missed the voice from the heart of their town. Many donated therefore for a new ringing. Thus, the Evangelical Lutheran Church Congregation was able to celebrate the consecration of bells on June 29, 2019, on the day of the Apostles Peter and Paul.
Now four new bells hang in the tower of the church. The prayer bell calls for prayer three times a day. The verse from Psalm 85, which adorns them, is a heartfelt desire of the church. It resounds for everyone who hears the melodious sound of the bell: "That goodness and faithfulness may meet; that righteousness and peace may kiss; that faithfulness may grow on the earth; that righteousness may look down from heaven" Ps 85:11.12.
We cordially invite you to the service on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. A look inside our church is worthwhile in any case. We are looking forward to getting to know you.
