Welcome to Old slaughterhouse Karlsruhe

After the closure of the slaughterhouse at the end of 2006, the area in the middle of the city became a new center for cultural and creative professionals.

The area offers artists and interested parties an
exceptional ambience for innovative ideas and a place to linger
in equal measure.

Art and culture can be found here as well as office buildings and restaurants. The former inn is still home to a restaurant, the "Im Schlachthof". The restaurant is particularly popular for brunch on Sundays. Not far away you will find the "Carls Wirtshaus", the "Aurum Weinbar" or the "Alte Hackerei", a bar with regular live music.

If you want to shake a leg after dinner, the Tollhaus or Substage are just the place for you. The diverse cultural program offers a mixture of music, dance and cabaret for everyone.

A special place for young start-ups is Perfekt Futur. The former pig market hall houses 68 used sea freight containers with office units.
