Welcome to

In the field of state security, the Federal Public Prosecutor General at the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe is the supreme prosecuting authority of the Federal Republic of Germany. Justice in the Federal Republic of Germany is basically a matter for the federal states, the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office is the only federal public prosecutor's office . The authority was established in 1950. The remit of the Federal Public Prosecutor General at the Federal Supreme Court essentially includes the first-instance prosecution of offenses against the internal security (e.g. acts of terrorist violence) and external security (e.g. espionage and treason) of the Federal Republic of Germany. A memorial stone on the corner of Hans-Thoma- and Moltkestraße commemorates the murder of former Federal Prosecutor General Siegfried Buback and his companions by RAF terrorists in April 1977.
