Kaiserstraße 131, 76133 Karlsruhe
The Kleine Kirche is the oldest existing church in Karlsruhe. It houses the old bell of the castle church from 1717 and was originally a place of worship for the small reformed congregation of the fan-shaped city.
Later, the small church was used as a garrison church for the Grand Duke's soldiers.
Diver's fountainThe so-called "Taucherbrunnen" - named after the sculptor Konrad Taucher and designed by him in 1905 - stands to the left in front of the small church, which forms a small square at this point due to a setback in Kaiserstraße.
The sculptor chose a boy drawing water as the central motif and thus refers to the function of the fountain as a "source of life" - a popular Art Nouveau theme. The finely crafted movement of the bronze boy contrasts with the massive, high stone water basin, which is restrainedly decorated with shells, garlands and a ram's head.
The fountain has survived the wars with only minor damage.
