Welcome to

Knielinger Lake was created as a gravel pit lake and has been part of the Burgau nature reserve since 1989. The lake borders the Rheinpark and the Maxau estate on its eastern side and is supplied with fresh water from the Rhine port. The water flows into the Alb via the Willichgraben. Knielinger See is not suitable as a swimming lake or place to linger, but the idyllic, green landscape invites visitors to take relaxing walks through the nature reserve.
