Plesse Castle and the ruins of Hardenberg Castle, two castles built in the 11th and 12th centuries, are only around seven kilometres away on foot. Hardenberg Castle can be visited as part of a guided tour and regularly serves as a backdrop for cultural events. If you want to enjoy views of the Leine valley, you should climb the 23-metre-high keep of Plesse Castle.
