Fauststadt Staufen

Picturesquely nestled in the vineyards on the edge of the southern Black Forest lies the historic town of Staufen with its winding alleyways in the medieval old town. The castle ruins offer a breathtaking view of the Rhine Valley and the Vosges mountain range. The town is closely associated with the legend of the alchemist Dr Johann Georg Faustus, who became world-famous through Goethe's "Faust".
