Forchtenberg in north-east Baden-Württemberg is known as the birthplace of Sophie Scholl. The memory of the courageous actions of the Scholl siblings is preserved here. The "Hans and Sophie Scholl Trail" leads through twelve stations of their childhood and youth, including the "White Rose i-point" in the former city gate. It is a place of reflection on a dark period in German history.
