Marienglashöhle Friedrichroda

The Marienglashöhle, a show cave near Friedrichroda in the Thuringian Forest, was largely created by gypsum and copper mining. It has been attracting visitors since the 19th century. The highlight of every tour is the crystal grotto: It houses plaster crystals up to 90 cm long, which are atmospherically illuminated. You can also marvel at an underground lake, old trolleys and miners' equipment.
