Sächsisches Obstland

Klosterstraße 16, 04769 Mügeln

Sächsisches Obstland
Already in the 12th century Fruit was cultivated in the monastery gardens in the region around Grimma, Döbeln and Oschatz. The climatic conditions and fertile loess loam soils of the "Saxon fruit country" favoured this. Today, mainly apples are grown here, but also sour cherries, pears and strawberries. The region can be explored along around 67 kilometres of the idyllic Obstland cycle path.
