UNESCO Biosphärenreservat Schorfheide-Chorin
Established in 1990, the Schorfheide-Chorin UNESCO Biosphere Reserve is one of the largest protected areas in Germany. Around 240 lakes dominate the landscape here, which is particularly popular with swimmers. But moors, forests and vast plains can also be explored via a network of hiking trails. Schorfheide-Chorin is also recognised as a model region for organic farming.
