Welterbestadt QUEDLINBURG

Markt 4, 06484 Quedlinburg

Welterbestadt QUEDLINBURG
North of the Harz Mountains, the town of Quedlinburg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its closed medieval town layout and around 2,000 half-timbered houses, it is one of the largest area monuments in Germany. The Romanesque collegiate church of St Servatius with its cathedral treasury still houses the tombs of the first German king Henry I and his wife Mathilde, as well as the oldest preserved knotted carpet in Europe.
