Ettlingen is the ideal gateway to the adventure world of the Black Forest Nature Park. The heart of the town on the Alb is Ettlingen Castle. Particularly impressive is the Asam Hall, which is one of the most popular concert halls far beyond the region, not only because of its excellent acoustics, but also because of its magnificent ceiling painting by the famous fresco painter Cosmas Damian Asam. Embark on a journey of discovery through the palace, explore the magnificent rooms of Margravine Sibylla Augusta and immerse yourself in times long past.
With its exploration tasks and research questions, this GeoTour turns the topic of "Stones and Geology" into an exciting outdoor experience. All texts and pictures can be found in this app, there are no information boards in the field.
Please note:Walking on forest paths, roadsides and forest areas and drinking well or natural spring water is at your own risk! Do not make any detours in residential areas and at monuments!
St. Martin's Church is just a few minutes' walk from the parking lots in the center of Ettlingen or from the Ettlingen Stadt bus stop. Depending on the starting point, the Alb river is crossed on the way to the starting point of this tour.
