Remigius Church is the oldest church in the Nagold area, dating back to the 8th century. It was probably part of a Frankish royal court and St. Remigius was the favorite patron saint of the Merovingians. The current building is Romanesque, using spolia from a Roman estate (villa rustica) in this area with Gothic modifications. During the guided tour, you will see the impressive partially preserved frescoes, dating from around 1320 in the nave and 1520 in the baptistery. The exciting history of Remigius Church is interwoven with the first written mention of Nagold in 786, Queen Hildegard, wife of Charlemagne, and the Beguine collection. There are also several historical tombs in the church.

Nagold has belonged to the Baden administrative district of Karlsruhe for over 50 years - "so ebbes!". But it has been part of Württemberg since 1363 - "ogloga". "Mr schwätz bei ons schwäbisch". This city tour invites you to take a walk through the past and present of a former Württemberg administrative town and, since 1806, an administrative district town that is now home to half the world. "Hiesige ond Reigschmeckte", locals and people from around 90 countries around the world. A conspicuous number of "Schlaule" and prospective "Käpsele". Of course, there are also right-wing "Dubbeler" and "Allmachts-Bachel". Arge "Bruddler", but also quite "Häbige". "Sotte ond Sotte". "A little bit of everything".

During the tour, the motto is: "No net hudle", "Mir hen nix zum Pressiere". Nevertheless, "mr noramache", because "oms nomgugge" the one and a half hours are over.

The city guide is delighted when the visitors' verdict at the end is: "Net gschempft is gnuag globt"

  • City tour: "Seek the best for the city" - with Luther's words through Nagold

Martin Luther never came to Württemberg, and therefore never came to Nagold. Nevertheless, he is still alive in this country today. Through our German language, which he decisively shaped with his translation of the Bible.

which he played a decisive role in shaping. In addition, there are countless idioms, proverbs and figures of speech from Luther's Bible that are still in use today. These include "laughing your head off", "washing your hands of it", "guarding something like the apple of your eye" and "being one heart and one soul". In line with Luther's advice "Stand firm, open your mouth, stop soon", the city guide does not turn his heart into a "murder pit" during his entertaining tour of the city, but tries to "to speak with the tongues of men and angels", even to "set heaven and earth in motion" so that the guests become "on fire" for Nagold - and in the end "go their way happily".
