Hohennagold Castle

The position of the guardhouse was probably between the northwestern tower and the watchtower. This seems to be plausible because it would have been near the gate house and directly on the most important parts of the defence complex.
Excavations on the building were done during the 1930s. According to the report from 1644, this house had two living-rooms, two more sitting-rooms or bedrooms, two smaller rooms, a stable for horses and a stall for cows. Beneath them there was a good cellar, in which wine or all sorts of food supplies could be kept.
The attic, also called the tailor’s house, was probably the tailor‘s living and working area.
